We are pleased that the prizes will once again be awarded at the Knowledge Centre at the British Library, continuing our longstanding collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>ICI London is proud to sponsor the biennial John Florio Prize, celebrating translations from Italian. The shortlisted translations cover \u2018themes of family, identity, conflict and confidence\u2019, and were described by the judges as \u2018dynamic as they are ambitious in their literary prowess\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s judges are Maame Blue, Jamie McKendrick, and Sandra Silipo.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The shortlist:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Brian Robert Moore<\/strong>\u00a0for a translation of\u00a0<em>A Silence Shared<\/em>\u00a0by Lalla Romano (Pushkin Press)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jenny McPhee<\/strong>\u00a0for a translation of\u00a0<em>Lies and Sorcery<\/em>\u00a0by Elsa Morante (New York Review Books Classics)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Leah Janeczko<\/strong>\u00a0for a translation of\u00a0<em>Lost on Me<\/em>\u00a0by Veronica Raimo (Virago)<\/p>\n<p><strong>John Cullen<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Gregory Conti<\/strong>\u00a0for a translation of\u00a0<em>The Colour Line<\/em>\u00a0by Igiaba Scego (HopeRoad Publishing)<\/p>\n<p>To find out more click <a href=\"https:\/\/societyofauthors.org\/2024\/12\/02\/announcing-the-translation-prizes-2024-shortlists\/\">HERE <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Society of Authors (SoA) has announced the shortlists for the eight prizes to be awarded at the 2024 Translation Prizes ceremony, on 12 February 2025.
