My War is not Over

My War is not Over

My War is not Over by Harry Shindler and Marco Patucchi is an account of life in Italy during the Second World War. Set against the backdrop of already very well documented events, this story focuses instead on the detail and the minutiae of how ordinary people's lives were affected by the conflict.

The author, Harry Shindler, will talk about his book and his story as a young British soldier in World War II Italy.

Harry Shindler was born in London in 1921. He served in the British Army during World War II, taking part in the landing at Anzio and the liberation of Rome. He now lives in Italy and is head of the Italy Star Association of British veterans. In 2014 he was awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) by the British Ambassador in Rome in recognition of his services to veterans.
