Unstitched World: an exhibition by Julie Polidoro

Unstitched World: an exhibition by Julie Polidoro

Maps are a logical sequence of coloured shapes, designed for the exploration and understanding of the world. The maps that I paint, not only give the wrong information but also say “All countries are the same size”.

How to represent a geography able to create queries? Up to which point can I carve out the world and still make it stand up? (Unstitched map)

I don’t want to think in terms of boundaries: the air I breath has no boundaries.

Everything is temporary: my life as well as what is in front of my eyes.

Geography is the theme of our nomadic times.

There are as many representations of the world as humans on Earth.
