GeM Award 2019: Farewell to Arch. Federica Martinelli

The GeM Award is a memorial fund in the name of Gloria Trevisan and Marco Gottardi, the two young Italian architects victims of the Grenfell Tower tragic fire. The fund, which has been established by Peregrine Bryant Architects Ltd, the architectural firm where Gloria worked, provides an annual award aimed at helping talented Italian graduates, interested in conservation, as Gloria and Marco were, coming to this country to study and work.

The scholarship, supported by SPAB, provides work experience in both architectural and structural engineering conservation practices as well as the opportunity to spend time with Historic England, to attend an internship with the National Trust, The Landmark Trust and other bodies involved in the conservation of historic buildings in the UK. GeM Scholars will also have the possibility to attend relevant conservation courses.

At the Italian Cultural Institute, Friends and supporters will meet Architect Federica Martinelli, the second GeM scholar, delivering a speech on her experience and the future developments of the project.

Refreshments will follow the talk.
