Urban Regeneration: New City, New Habitat, New Technology

Within the London Design Festival (14 to 22 September) the rendez-vous of INTERNI Magazine organized in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute in London is back. The theme of the talk is the fate of contemporary cities.

Two international leading players in the world of architecture working on the theme of environmental quality, as Alessandro Melis (studio Heliopolis 21 Architetti Associati and curator of the Italian Pavilion at Biennale di Venezia 2020-Architettura) and Andrew Waugh (Waugh Thistleton Architects), are invited to talk about the new design of the city, comparing the knowledge and practices of Italian know-how and Anglo-Saxon design culture.
The talk – moderated by Professor David Turnbull (Director of ATOPIA Innovation) – will be the opportunity to discuss the vision of the resilient city as a living and changing entity, which works out innovative strategies, to respond to pressing issues, such as pollution, traffic, marginalization, loss of identity, and impoverishment of relationships.

INTERNI and the Italian Cultural Institute in London promote this debate, taking into account elements, such as creativity, sustainability and innovation, essential values of the contemporary Made in Italy design.
