Presentation of Crisalidi by Namsal Siedlecki

Namsal Siedlecki will be in discussion with Guido Santandrea, Artistic Director of Almanac Projects

Namsal Siedlecki will talk about his work and his exhibition “Mvaḥ Chā”, part of the project “Crisalidi”, curated by Marcello Smarrelli, promoted by Pastificio Cerere Foundation in collaboration with Siddharta Art Foundation.

The artist is one of the winners of the 2019 Italian Council contest conceived by the DGAAP (Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity and Urban Regeneration) of MiBACT (Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism), to promote Italian contemporary art in the world, to provide funding for projects to develop talents and for the international promotion of artists, curators and critics as well as projects designed to increase public collections through the production of new works of art.

The project includes the production of a series of bronze sculptures realized by the artist during different periods of his Kathmandu residency in collaboration with local foundries. The artworks derive from the moulds used by the Nepalese artisans for the lost wax castings of the votive statues.

The Centro per l’arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci di Prato will be the final recipient of the artworks created within the scope of this project.

The talk at the Institute is the first in a series of international events which will follow the exhibition. For more information please download the Press release
