Not only cinema, but also music is the focus of an ambitious online project to promote Italian culture, as the country and parts of the world increasingly resume activities following the gradual easing of Covid restrictions.

“Estate all’Italiana Festival” is brought to you by Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale, in cooperation with Associazione Italiafestival, an association which brings together some of the most important Italian festivals. This Summer-long festival features more than 20 high quality musical events which will be available for free online - in streaming and on demand for 48 hours. ItaliaFestival is involved, among others, with the Ravenna Festival, the Puccini Festival, the Napoli Teatro Festival, the Festival of Itria, the Santarcangelo Festival, the Emilia Romagna Festival, Borgate dal vivo in Piedmont, Armonie d’Arte in Calabria and the Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto.

Anyone wishing to follow the festivals will just have to register prior to the events on and will receive an email from that platform providing access details.

Estate all’Italiana has started with the inaugural concert of the Ravenna Festival on Sunday, 21 June with the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini, soprano Rosa Feola, directed by Riccardo Muti.

20 August: Orfeo, opera by Claudio Monteverdi, part of the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto

21 August: Madama Butterfly, opera by Francesco Puccini, part of the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago

22 August: Crisotemi, tragedy by Ghiannis Ritsos inspired by Sophocles' Electra , part of the Festival Inda - Per Voce Sola, from the Greek Theatre in Siracusa, Sicily

30 August: The Sound of My Body is the Memory of My Presence, a performance by Romanian artist Mircea Cantor, a world premiere closing the season at the Greek Theatre in Siracusa, part of the festival Inda 2020
