Borgo Sud – A Sister’s Story

Donatella Di Pietrantonio, author of the acclaimed L’arminuta (A Girl Returned) will join us at the Italian Cultural Institute to discuss her new novel Borgo Sud (A Sister’s Story) with translator Ann Goldstein. Published in English by Europa Editions UK, A Sister’s Story revisits the places and characters of A Girl Returned with a novel focussed on the ambivalent, ambiguous, wavering but steadfast relationship between sisters.

Donatella Di Pietrantonio is the author of three prize-winning novels including A Girl Returned, winner of the prestigious Campiello Prize. She lives in Penne, Abruzzo, where she practises as a paediatric dentist.

Ann Goldstein is an editor and translator from Italian, widely known for her translation of Elena Ferrante’s work.
