A screening of Antonio Carluccio’s culinary adventures in Australia

Thursday 24 November, 6pm

On the occasion of the seventh edition of the Settimana della Cucina Italiana nel Mondo (Week of Italian Cuisine in the World), the Italian Cultural Institute in London is pleased to host a screening of two episodes from Antonio Carluccio’s Six Seasons, produced and directed by Carmelo Musca, and a conversation with Sabine Stevenson, founding trustee of the Antonio Carluccio Foundation, and Annabel Valentine, archivist at Oxford Brookes University.

Antonio Carluccio’s Six Seasons was the last TV series Antonio Carluccio filmed for SBS in Australia. This series explores the food culture of the indigenous Australians and their foraging practices in the light of their ancient sustainable lifeways. A theme very much at the heart of Antonio Carluccio’s food philosophy, he discovers new and mutual foraging and cooking traditions, and the joy of sharing food, history and culture together with Noongar Elder Richard Walley and indigenous Noongar people in Western Australia. Televised by SBS in Australia, it has never been broadcast in the UK. In association with The Antonio Carluccio Foundation and his archive at Oxford Brookes University, we will be screening two episodes for our guests. There will an introduction to The Antonio Carluccio Foundation, his life and the archive at Oxford Brookes and some personal items of Comm Antonio Carluccio will be on display.
