Dante 1321-2021. A Man for All Seasons

A series of seminars to mark the 700th anniversary of Dante Alighieri’s death

Presented by Alessandro Scafi (Warburg Institute), Tabitha Tuckett (UCL) and John Took (UCL)

The aim of this series is to explore some of the leading ideas of Dante’s work and their continuing significance to us. The audience will be introduced to a wide range of texts and topics with a view to reconstructing the moral and intellectual world in which Dante lived. We will discuss Dante’s understanding of a variety of topics, his sources, and his relevance to contemporary existential concerns.
