A webinar dedicated to the ambitious project by ICI London to celebrate the vitality of the Italian language while honouring Camilleri’s literary work, curated by Massimo Fenati, a London-based Italian comic book artist. 15 renowned Italian and English cartoonists have come together to illustrate the short story L’odore del diavolo by Andrea Camilleri.

The selected cartoonists are some of the most important new generation Italian ones, together with some very renowned British ones: Sergio Algozzino, Paolo Bacillieri, Alessandro Baronciani, Lorena Canottiere, Thomas Campi, Daniel Cuello, Matthew Dooley (winner of the 2020 Bollinger Everyman Prize for Comic Fiction), Massimo Fenati, Gulio Macaione, Federico Manzone, Jon McNaught (celebrated graphic novelist and regular contributor to The London Review of Books and The New Yorker), Andrea Serio, Posy Simmonds (the ‘grand dame’ of British comics), Alessandro Tota, Lucas Varela (Argentinian-born columnist of the FT Weekend Magazine).
