First UK joint exhibition of the Italian twin brothers

The Italian Cultural Institute presents

The Italian Cultural Institute hosts the first UK joint exhibition of twin brothers Andrea and Paolo Ventura. Andrea is a painter and illustrator, Paolo a photographer. They will bring their recent works to the Institute, including some paintings especially commissioned to Andrea: a series of portraits of the protagonists of our forthcoming 2016 season, from Michelangelo Antonioni to Natalia Ginzburg, Giorgio Bassani, Elsa Morante and Primo Levi. Andrea Ventura lives in New York, where he is well known for his illustrations for publications such as The New York Times, The New Yorker, Newsweek, Time, Rolling Stone and Businessweek and many other national and international newspaper, magazines and books. His awards include gold and silver medals from the Society of Illustrators for his portraits of Latrell Sprewell, Jorge Luis Borges and Glenn Gould and a Gold Medal for the Lead Awards 2010. His works have been exhibited around the world.Paolo Ventura is also based in New York. His works are present in collections such as the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Library of Congress in Washington and the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris, and have been exhibited worldwide, including the Italian pavilion of the 2011 Venice Biennale of Art. Among his most famous series of works, The Infinite City, Lo Zuavo Scomparso, Automaton, War Stories, Winter Stories and Short Stories.
