Foscolo in London

Foscolo in London

Tribute to the great poet on the bicentenary of his arrival in Great Britain

On the occasion of the bicentennial anniversary of Ugo Foscolo’s arrival in England, the Foscolo Appeal Fund and the Italian Cultural Institute present a lecture by the Italian essayist Piero Morales on the psychological aspects of the poet’s works and his cultural role in London especially in promoting Dante’s “Divine Comedy” among the British public.
Readings of selected works and letters, related to the topics of the lecture, will be performed by young Italian actor Lucio Veronesi. During the event, a bench dedicated to the poet’s memory will be unveiled in the garden of the Institute.

Piero Morales is a researcher at the ENEA (the Italian national agency for new technologies, energy and sustainable economic development).
As an expert of Foscolo’s life and works, he has written “Vette. Donne, Passioni, Musica e Tragedia”, a book about the poet and Beethoven. [BOOK NOW]
