“Fuelling the Future: let there be fusion energy”

“Fuelling the Future: let there be fusion energy”

The seminar will be introduced and chaired by David Martin, Chief Operating Officer at Culham Centre for Fusion Energy.

Nuclear fusion is the means of energy production employed by the sun, fusing lighter elements into heavier ones. Nuclear reactors that produce energy by fusion could be a potential source of unlimited, clean energy.

Join us for an evening of discovery into general aspects of nuclear fusion, with an eye to the experiments that are taking place in the (UK JET and MAST-U) in the contest of EUROfusion.

There will be a talk from an expert of the field, followed by Q&A session and a drink or two.

Dr Romanelli is the CCFE programme leader for JET; European Technical Responsible Officer for Transport and Confinement studies on JT-60SA; member of the European Fusion Theory Conference scientific board; coordinator of Core Transport Modelling of JET; Coordinator of Equilibrium studies at JET; and manager of the ITER/F4E contract for simulation of ITER fuelling in baseline scenario and effects of transients.
