Atomic Bass

Following the advice of British authorities on the Coronavirus with regard to people travelling to/from northern Italy, we are sorry to inform you that the event has been cancelled.

Atomic Bass is the tale of an uncompromising project: a musical journey to the areas surrounding Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, a region evacuated in the aftermath of the 2011 disaster and which has now been reopened to its inhabitants. The protagonist of this journey is Giuseppe Bassi, a well-known musician to the international jazz scene. His goal is to meet the people who, despite countless difficulties, are coming back to live in their hometowns, to bring music into their homes and to collect their stories.

To find out more about the project check the official website: http://www.atomicbass.culturedelmondo.org/en/

Giuseppe Bassi will perform with Enzo Zirilli and Sumire Kuribayashi.

Antonio Moscatello

There, where the havoc of a black evil sea had cancelled all harmony.
There, where radioactive silence enveloped the exposed tombs, the gutted houses, the abandoned cars.
There, where only the shadows, only the ghosts walked in a soundless, painful pilgrimage.
There, where still today a high wall prevents the horizon from taking back the travellers’ eyes.
There, right there, a double bass brought the only medicine that could cure muted and wounded souls: music.
