To Speak England in Different Languages

To Speak England in Different Languages

EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture) is one of the partners of this initiative, a unique literary prize aimed at anyone who lives in England and lives between languages, organised by Specimen, The Babel Review of Translations.

To Speak England in Different Languages celebrates the linguistic and cultural mixes and multiplicities that inhabit this country by inviting those who speak more than one language to make creative use of each language, and of the movements between them.

The submitted texts can be written in any language but English, accompanied by the author's translation into English, and should address the experience of living between languages.

Because of the fair and many requests from the rest of the UK, the prize is now open to every UK resident whose mother tongue is not English. The new deadline is therefore August 21st.
