Lord Parry Andrew Mitchell is an IT services serial entrepreneur. He was asked to leave school at 16 and his first job was selling vacuum cleaners door-to-door. Realising that education held the key to his future success he went to evening classes four nights a week for five years. He obtained an honours degree in economics and went on to complete a master’s degree in business at Columbia Business School in New York. Parry joined the IT industry in 1967 and has been associated with it ever since, firstly as an entrepreneur and then as a politician. He worked at the Labour Party HQ introducing new election winning techniques and In the year 2000 Tony Blair appointed him to the House of Lords. In the Lords he sits on the Science and Technology Select Committee and also on the National Security Committee. Parry lives in London and Umbria. His current interest is the misuse of data and its dangers.
