Fashion Dialogues. The Beauty Series #2: Perfume. Virginia Ruocco in conversation with Matteo Augello

The next guest for the FASHION DIALOGUES season on beauty is Virginia Ruocco, Brand and Product Development Manager of Carthusia, I Profumi di Capri. In conversation with Matteo Augello, Ruocco will discuss the history of her company and the uniqueness of their location in their work, as well as the importance of perfume-making in Italian history and culture.

The island of Capri and its Certosa di San Giacomo have been associated with perfumes since the Middle Ages. In 1948, the prior of the Certosa rediscovered ancient fragrance formulas and shared them with a chemist, which led to the establishment of the ‘world’s smallest perfume laboratory’. The name Carthusia references this tradition, and the brand is still run by the Ruocco family.

Virginia oversees daily all matters linked to marketing and communication to make sure every detail is consistent with the brand identity. She manages teams in charge of packaging, production, press and public relations, and digital contents. During the event, Virginia will provide a unique insight into her work, her family business, and how she combines forward thinking with heritage and creativity.
