1. Book O Clock – Farfalle

Saturday 28 February, 3pm at the Victoria Library,  160 Buckingham Palace Rd, London SW1W 9TR

Book O’Clock with Gloria Danili: Farfalle, written by Lisa Riccardi and illustrated by Anna Mosca

In Italian

Special announcement: we are delighted that starting from Saturday 28 February “Book O’Clock” — the book club for children aged 4 to 11 and their families, promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute in London in collaboration with children’s and YA author Gloria Danili and SIAL school — will be moving from its historic home in Holland Park to the Children’s Room of the wonderful Victoria Library (just a few minutes from Victoria train station), and it will now take place on Saturday afternoons (instead of Sundays).

To mark this transition, Book O’Clock now proudly features a brand-new logo created by Mirco Maselli (aka M V Maselli, former artist for Lupo Alberto, and author of books, comics and graphic novels).

On 28 February we will celebrate the move of BOOK O’CLOCK to Victoria Library together with the enchanting picture book “Farfalle” written by Lisa Riccardi and illustrated by Anna Mosca, published by Edizioni Corsare.

“It’s like going round and round on a rollercoaster and gaining more speed every single time. I’m a little bit scared and yet I don’t want to get off” (Lisa Riccardi)

Our creative Book O’Clockers, after reading and admiring the book, and after watching the very special video messages that author Lisa and illustrator Anna recorded especially for Book O’Clock, will dive straight into the biggest and most mysterious of all emotions — fluttering among heart-racing whirlwinds, “FLAP FLAP” in the tummy, and spring just around the corner. Led by Gloria, our Book O’Clockers will create beautiful colourful butterflies using crepe paper and pipe cleaners!

Set your watches — Story Time is about to appear among the shelves of the beautiful children’s and young people’s library at 160 Buckingham Palace Road!

Participation in the event is free but registration is required on the Institute’s website.

Lisa Riccardi was born in 1986, the last to emerge during an unexpected triplet birth. In a family filled with doctors, she chose to graduate in Literature. She was later admitted to the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, where she graduated in 2012—the same year she won the Premio Solinas, which enabled her to make the short film Un vero portiere, released in theaters that same year. She has worked for various production companies (Wildside, Palomar, Lotus Production, Disney) in both production and directing roles, gaining on-set skills ranging from making the perfect coffee to coordinating extras, managing shooting schedules, and overseeing crews. In recent years she has stepped away from the set to devote herself exclusively to writing. In 2020 she wrote the story and screenplay for Edoardo Leo’s Lasciarsi un giorno a Roma and began collaborating with several production companies on scripts for feature films and children’s TV series (Pinocchio & Friends, Winx). At the same time, she has published illustrated books and titles for young readers with publishers such as MIMebù, Orecchio Acerbo, Edizioni Corsare, and Becco Giallo. In 2025 she co-wrote (with Damiano Bruè) the first English-language Amazon series titled Postcards From Italy, produced by Gaumont Italia and directed by Oscar winner Jessica Yu, starring Nicole Wallace. In January 2026, 2 Cuori 2 Capanne (directed by Massimiliano Bruno) is released, for which she co-wrote the story and screenplay; the film won the Audience Award at the 2025 Rome Film Festival – Alice nella Città section. Also at the beginning of 2026, the first two titles in the Super Sdentata series are published by Battello a Vapore. These books were selected among the 10 titles with the greatest film adaptation potential at the 2026 MIA Book Adaptation Forum, and there is hope that Super Sdentata will eventually become an animated TV series. She is currently writing her debut graphic novel for Tunué and has a medical series in development for Netflix.

Anna Mosca was born and lives in Genoa. She holds a Master’s in Editorial Illustration from Ars in Fabula and graduated in Philosophy and Philosophical Methodologies from the University of Genoa. She has always nurtured a passion for telling stories through images. In 2023 she won the “Il mio primo libro di figure” contest organized by the Illustrada festival, illustrating and publishing Il libro gigante (Gribaudo). She created the illustrations for the picture book Farfalle (Edizioni Corsare, 2024) and, thanks to that book, won the 2025 “Premio Luzzati” for illustration. Animalier (Gribaudo, 2025) is her first project published as both writer and illustrator. She loves getting her hands dirty with colors and feeling the paper under her pencils, which is why her illustrations are handmade. She enjoys meeting her young readers in schools and bookstores, leading creative workshops based on reading her picture books. Nature is her greatest source of inspiration; she loves walking in the woods, collecting dry leaves, and learning the names of all the birds. Sometimes she stops to greet a tree or pay it a compliment.

M V Maselli has been writing and drawing stories for young people for over thirty years. Between 1990 and 2012 he published hundreds of comic stories with McK Publishing (Silver), for the monthly magazines Lupo Alberto and Cattivik, as well as various Sturmtruppen strips for Il Giornalino (Edizioni Paoline). For thirty years he illustrated various school textbooks and published countless humorous and satirical cartoons for several periodicals, especially the historic Messaggero dei Ragazzi of Padua.
