St Francis of Assisi for Kids (and curious parents) by Federico Corradini

A journey through storytelling, universal values and creativity for children. Readings and activities with the author Federico Corradini and Eleonora Lizzul

Event for children aged 6-12

In Italian

ICI London and SIAL.School present Federico Corradini’s book St Francis for Children (an curious parents), published by Prometeica, part of Prometeica’s publishing project dedicated to innovative pedagogical methodology. Through the empathic–cognitive value of shared reading, the goal is to transform a historical and spiritual figure like Francis of Assisi into a bridge between generations, translating complex topics into accessible and engaging language for children.

Animated storytelling and readings will alternate with interactive and hands‑on workshops, blending moments of listening, interaction, and hands‑on activities, ensuring experiential and tactile learning.
– Presentation of the Publishing House (Behind the Scenes of the Book): how a publishing house works, what it is, and how a book is created; how, when, and why a volume is produced; the professional roles involved: the birth of a story and the development of illustrations (from draft to graphic layout)
– Shared Reading and Storytime. Selection of key passages from the book to explore the different ages and facets of Francis: the child and the merchant: Francis in the era of the Italian city‑states; the dreaming adolescent: the myth of King Arthur and the desire to become a knight; the innovator: Francis as a pioneer of environmentalism and bearer of a message with global impact
– Educational and Creative Workshops. During the storytelling, the audience will take part in differentiated hands‑on activities designed to help internalize the book’s key messages.
