Miseria e Nobiltà tells the story of the humble families of Felice Pasquale and his colleague who are hired by a Marquis who wants to marry the daughter of a rich but simple cook, so they pose as aristocrats. The movie is considered a masterpiece of Italian popular cinema.
The story is taken from the Eduardo Scarpetta’s play of the same name.

Mario Mattoli was born on November 30, 1898 in Tolentino, Marche, Italy. He was a director and writer, known for La damigella di Bard (1936), Abbandono (1940) and Ore 9: Lezione di chimica (1941). He was married to Mity Mignone. He died on February 26, 1980 in Rome, Lazio, Italy.
Nick Walker has worked in the film industry, is a film lecturer, programmer and host of film salon events in London and Rochester. Nick has a Master’s Degree in Film Culture.
