A theatrical reading for speaking voice and music that crosses the words of Goliarda Sapienza, radical author of twentieth-century Italian literature. The voice of the author intertwines with that of Modesta, protagonist of Sapienza’s The Art of Joy, bringing to the surface the conflict with conventions, desire, power and the search for a personal truth. The word dialogues with the music performed live by the multi-instrumentalist Guido Sodo, building an intimate and vibrant path in which writing becomes an act of freedom, resistance and care.

Livia Gionfrida
Director, playwright and actress of Sicilian origin, in 2008 she founded the Metropopolare collective with which, since 2008, she has been on an artistic residency inside the Prato La Dogaia prison. She works on projects in “borderline” contexts alongside productions for theatre foundations. She has received the Premio della Critica – A.N.C.T. (2018), the Premio Radicondoli – Valter Ferrara (2022) and was a finalist for Le Maschere del Teatro (2022).
Guido Sodo
Multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger. A classically trained guitarist, he ranges from world music to early music and composes scores for silent cinema. His live scores dialogue with the word, creating soundscapes that amplify the rhythm and imagery of the scene.
