ICI London is delighted to invite you to the next event of The Italian Library, a collaboration with Italian books unquestioned authority Ornella Tarantola, formerly manager of the Italian Bookshop. In our beautiful Montale Library, Ornella talks about books and writers, music and Sanremo, star signs and podcasts, Gadda, and Virginia Woolf.

The fifth event is on Tuesday 19 March (6 pm). It will be a talk between the writer and journalist Attilio Bolzoni and the actor and screenwriter Marco Gambino about the mafia, past and current wars, riddles, and notorious Italian crimes. Both speakers will discuss the Sicily region reading from the book Controvento, racconti di frontiera by Attilio Bolzoni (Zolfo Editore; 2023).

This is an in-person event and will be conducted in Italian with English consecutive translation.

Attilio Bolzoni is a writer and journalist. He started his journalistic career at the newspaper L’Ora di Palermo and then worked as a specialist correspondent for La Repubblica for forty years. Currently, he is a commentator for the newspaper Domani. Bolzoni is also a screenwriter for theatrical plays and TV series, and film director of shorts.

Marco Gambino was born in Palermo and has lived in London since 1987. He is an actor who started his career in theatre and cinema. Gambino collaborated with Attilio Bolzoni on the theatrical piece Parole d’Onore. His last work is Those About To Die, a TV series that will be released on Amazon in July 2024.
