Cricket, the icebreaker of integration in Italy
Gone are the days of considering cricket played in Italy as an exotique vagary. Following the biggest upset in the history of the game, victory over England at the 1998 European Championships, cricket has rapidly grown in the peninsula, assuming the unexpected role of icon of a newly integrated nation.
