GeM Award 2024: Italian Conservation architects share their UK experiences

Gloria e Marco Award

GeM Award 2024

Friday 14 June, 6pm

In 2017, Gloria Trevisan and her fiance’ Marco Gottardi, young and talented architects from Italy, came to London to find work and were delighted to have found an affordable flat on the 23rd floor of the Grenfell Tower. They both died tragically in their flat during the fire in London on 14 June 2017.

Out of the grim horror of the disaster, Gloria e Marco Charity (GeM) was founded in their name to provide an annual award to foster an exchange and help talented Italian graduates in studying and gaining experience in architectural conservation in the UK.

On the Seventh Anniversary of the Grenfell Tower Fire, the GeM Award Charity organizes an event on conservation architecture, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in London to remember Gloria, Marco, and all who perished in the Grenfell tragedy.
