Italian Cultural Institute London, the Italian Trade Agency London Office and INTERNI Magazine are pleased to invite you to the talk “The Brilliant Industry: Design, Art & Architecture” on the occasion of London Design Festival (13 – 21 September 2025).

After the welcoming of Italian Cultural Institute London Director Francesco Bongarrà, Italian Trade Agency London Office Director Giovanni Sacchi and Gilda Bojardi, Editor, INTERNI Magazine, distinguished speakers will share insights on new trends and synergies in the design, art and architecture industries between Italy and the UK.

Speakers:
Piero Gandini: Executive Chairman of Flos B&B Italia Group. Mr Gandini has an extensive and prestigious experience in the high-end design sector and began his entrepreneurial career as art director at Flos, co-founded by his father in the 1960s. Mr Gandini has always insisted that design must resist the seductions of luxury for luxury’s sake, championing ideas and new voices.
Edward Barber: Designer at Barber Osgerby. Mr Barber founded Barber and Osgerby’s studio with Jay Osgerby in 1996. Their work has challenged the boundaries of design in the UK and abroad, while their commitment to lecturing, workshops and studio practice supports the development of new generations of designers.
Alison Brooks: Architect and founder and creative director of Alison Brooks Architects, based in London. Her awards include the RIBA Stirling Prize, Manser Medal, Stephen Lawrence Prize and RIBA House of the Year. In 2020, Alison Brooks Architects was named Dezeen Architect of the Year, with the judges commenting, “A ground-breaking practice with great ethos”.
Moritz Waldemeyer: Designer and Engineer. Mr Waldemeyer has collaborated with many of the world’s top architects and fashion designers including Zaha Hadid and Hussein Chalayan. His work represents a fusion of art, product design, fashion and entertainment.

The event will be chaired by Carlo Biasia, Special Projects Architect of the INTERNI Magazine.

This event is organised by ICI London, ITA London Office and INTERNI Magazine. Supported by ITA London Office and INDELUX in collaboration with Bottega Bogna. Special thanks to Gruppo Mondadori, Meliá London Kensington, and Masottina.

Over the past 30 years, under the direction of Gilda Bojardi (Compasso d’Oro for Lifetime Achievement and Honorary Degree in Interior and Spatial Design from the Politecnico di Milano), INTERNI Magazine has developed into a multi-structured editorial system with guides, monographic supplements, digital activities, events, and talks, making it an indispensable reference point for the creative and productive world of Made in Italy design.

A pivotal project in INTERNI’s system was the creation (curated by Gilda Bojardi) of the FuoriSalone in 1990, a circuit of Milanese events (around 400 listed in the Guide) organised in museums, historic palaces, galleries, and flagship stores. Every April, in conjunction with the Salone del Mobile, the city transforms into a grand event, the most important and celebrated International Design Week in the world.
