Universities – Contributions for Training and Refresher Courses for Teachers of Italian at Foreign Universities (Chapter 2619/3)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation provides financial contributions to co-fund the organisation of training and professional development courses for teachers of Italian working at foreign universities.

Eligibility
Applicants must be higher education institutions, either public or private, operating on a permanent basis in the country where the application is submitted.

How to Apply
Applicants operating in England and Wales may submit their request for funding to the Italian Cultural Institute in London.

A separate application must be submitted for each contribution requested. The application must include the following documentation:

  • A formal letter of request and statement of motivation from the university;
  • Form A, containing the Embassy’s opinion and a declaration confirming that the document conforms to the original held on file by the Office;
  • Form B, namely the final report on the use of any previously granted contribution, including the Embassy’s opinion and a declaration confirming that the document conforms to the original held on file by the Office.

Information and Deadlines
Applications must be submitted no later than 20 March 2026 to the following email address: icilondon@esteri.it, quoting in the subject line: “Contributi 2619/3”.

Applications will not be accepted for:

  • Training or refresher courses taking place in Italy or outside England and Wales;
  • The organisation of curricular courses, conferences, seminars, debates;
  • The coverage of participation costs for teachers attending such initiatives.

In compliance with the relevant regulations, applications will also not be accepted for training courses aimed at university students who intend to pursue a future career as teachers of Italian. Such students may attend as auditors, but they may not be included in the official number of participants.

Courses must be specifically intended for teachers of Italian who are already working at foreign universities.
