ICI London supports a special screening of Duse (2025), the latest film directed by Pietro Marcello, one of the most original voices in contemporary cinema. 

In Italian with English subtitles

The screening is presented in collaboration with the Italian Section of the University of Cambridge. A drinks reception will begin at 6.15 pm in the Fisher Foyer, followed by the screening at 7 pm in the Palmerston Room and a conversation with the director.

Duse offers a compelling cinematic reflection on the life and artistic legacy of Eleonora Duse, one of the most iconic figures in the history of theatre. Pietro Marcello is internationally recognised for his distinctive approach to filmmaking, which moves between documentary and fiction while engaging with themes of literary and historical relevance. With Duse, he continues his exploration of innovative narrative and visual forms, offering an evocative portrait of a widely acclaimed actress.

No registration is required, simply attend on the day

The event is organised by Dr Elena Sottilotta and Dr Luca Peretti (Italian Section, University of Cambridge), with the support of the Cambridge-Intesa Sanpaolo Fund and the Italian Cultural Institute in London.
