ICI London is delighted to welcome author Paolo Nelli to present his novel Gli stivali di Medea (2026, La Nave di Teseo).
In collaboration with the Eugenio Montale Library of the Italian Cultural Institute in London and Il Circolo, the author will discuss his latest work, in its recently published revised edition, in conversation with Etta De Benedetti Carnelli.
There will also be an opportunity to have a copy signed by the author!

Paolo Nelli (1968) is Lecturer in Italian Language and Culture at King’s College London. He has published short stories and novels, including Trattato di economia affettiva (2018), Il terzo giorno (2020, La Nave di Teseo) and Sindrome da assicuratore (2024, La Nave di Teseo). Gli stivali di Medea (2026, La Nave di Teseo) is a revised edition of the novel first published in 2012 by Fazi Editore. Paolo Nelli leads the Italian-language Book Club at the Italian Cultural Institute in London.
Etta De Benedetti Carnelli was a Professor of English Literature and Comparative Literature. She has also worked with the Social Services departments of the Borough of Westminster and Dorset County Council, and is a member of the Advisory Group at the University of Sheffield for projects dedicated to people with disabilities. She is a member of the Board of Il Circolo – Italian Cultural Association in London.
