Two blustery 50-somethings have an obsession: going for their last drink (l’ultimo – the Veneto version of the last one for the road). One night, they run into Giulio, a shy architecture student, whose way of seeing the world and love will be transformed as the trio wander from bar to bar in the region of Veneto.

Adriano Candiago is a director, screenwriter and casting director, born in Argentina and based in Rome. He graduated in film directing at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (the Italian national film school) and teaches at NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti. He co-wrote the screenplay for Francesco Sossai’s Le città di pianura, which was presented at Cannes (Un Certain Regard section, 2025), for which he won two David di Donatello awards: Best Original Screenplay and Best Casting. He is currently working on Becco di Rame, his first animated feature film.
