Piano concert by Antonio Morabito

Pianist Antonio Morabito, acclaimed for his expressive depth and refined artistry, presents a programme that highlights the enduring influence of Italian musical tradition across European repertoire.

The concert opens with a fantasia by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, reflecting the formative role Italy played in shaping his musical language. The sonatas of Domenico Scarlatti evoke the brilliance and imagination of the Italian keyboard tradition, combining structural clarity with expressive freedom.

In the second half, a thread of lyrical intensity emerges: the nocturnes and ballade by Frédéric Chopin reveal a pianistic style deeply influenced by Italian operatic singing, while the works of Alexander Scriabin extend this legacy into a more visionary late-Romantic sound world.

The programme culminates with Franz Liszt, whose Sonetto del Petrarca and dazzling paraphrase on Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi embody the fusion of pianistic virtuosity and operatic drama.

A musical journey across styles and eras, revealing the lasting resonance of the Italian ideal of song, form, and expression.
