The Italian Cultural Institute of London (ICI London), the Cervantes Institute in London and the Embassy of Colombia in the United Kingdom are pleased to present the Special Screening of Mompox, Cine y Memoria by Gracia Ramirez (2023) on Thursday 24 July 2025 at 6:30 pm at ICI London.
Mompox, Cine y Memoria is a 28-minute documentary and represents Ramirez’s exploration of the legacy left by Francesco Rosi’s film adaptation of Chronicle of a Death Foretold in the riverside town of Mompox. Through the film’s haunting themes and filming locations, the director and researcher delves into the images still vivid in the collective memory, revealing the intersections between art and reality.
After the screening, there will be a Q&A panel featuring director Gracia Ramirez, Italian film critic Maria Carla Zizolfi and Juan Toledo, Professor of Latin American Literature and expert on Gabriel García Márquez.
