THE ITALIAN LIBRARY #32 – IN ENGLAND WITH AGATHA CHRISTIE

1. TIL – Agatha Christie

The Italian Library series, organised in collaboration with Ornella Tarantola, returns at the new home of the Italian Cultural Institute London (4–5 Buckingham Gate, London SW1E 6JP).

Thursday 10 September, 6.30 pm
THE ITALIAN LIBRARY #32 – IN ENGLAND WITH AGATHA CHRISTIE

Event in Italian | In-person only

An evening dedicated to the Queen of Crime.

Melania Guarda Ceccoli, in conversation with Ornella Tarantola, will retrace the key moments of Agatha Christie’s life, creating an itinerary that invites readers into a fascinating world waiting to be explored—both through travel and through her books.

Together, we will follow Agatha Christie from her happy childhood in Devon to her great loves, her fascination with the Orient, and the creation of two of the most iconic characters in detective fiction: Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple.

How many English villages have we wandered through in search of Miss Marple, tending her roses? And how many London streets still bring to mind Poirot’s meticulous walks?

Because, ultimately, Agatha Christie belongs to all of us, as we continue to journey through the pages of her books.

Readings by Marco Gambino.

Melania Guarda Ceccoli is a travel and lifestyle journalist. Born in Milan, she has always believed the world is too vast to remain in one place. After spending four years in London, she moved with her family and their cocker spaniel to a cottage in Cambridge, where she continues to write and tell stories from her garden. Her book In England with Agatha Christie, a literary and personal journey through the places that shaped the life of the celebrated English writer, was published in 2026 by Giulio Perrone Editore.
