“Il paese delle mezze riforme”, a book by Linda Lanzillotta

Presentation of the book “Il paese delle mezze riforme” by Linda Lanzillotta

A memoir and an essay at the same time, Lanzillotta’s book reflects on the role of Italian institutions after almost 50 years of political life. Unresolved situations are analysed through the civic spirit of the author in order to find out a proper way to modernize the state apparatus. Throughout the book, Lanzillotta wonders if it is now possible to establish a deep reformist period, in which the ideas of real progress and social development are the protagonists of the political agenda? How can we try to simplify the entire bureaucratic system?

Lanzillotta describes her journey from a tough apprenticeship through to the main governamental institutions.

Chaired by Simone Filippetti, UK Correspondent for Il Sole 24 Ore.
