Winner of the Jury Prize at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, The Eight Mountains is a story about friendship, fatherhood, and the choices we make in life. In the background, the mountains we climb every day, both physically and mentally. Pietro is a boy from the city, Bruno is the last child of a forgotten mountain village. Their encounter introduces them to love and loss and reminds them of their origins, letting their destinies unfold, as Pietro and Bruno discover what it means to be true friends for life.
