FASHION DIALOGUES is a series of conversations that will explore the centrality fashion has for Italian culture and society. Fashion historian Matteo Augello will present unique voices in the industry, covering topics such as journalism, modelling, curation, styling and emerging talents.
This second event is with Susanna Ausoni, Italy’s stylist extraordinaire. She was the Head Stylist at MTV Italy in the 2000s, creating an imagery that is still popular today. She curates the styles of prominent Italian celebrities, TV hosts and singers – such as Michelle Hunziker, Silvia Toffanin, Mahmood, Elisa and the most recent addition, Laura Pausini – using fashion to celebrate each personality. In 2022, she wrote a book on the practice of styling with journalist Antonio Mancinelli: L’arte dello styling. Come raccontarsi attraverso i vestiti (Vallardi, 2022).

Matteo Augello is a fashion historian and lecturer based in London. His first monograph – Curating Italian Fashion: Heritage, Industry, Institutions – published by Bloomsbury in 2022 – investigates the importance of corporate sponsorships and institutions in the history of fashion exhibitions in Italy.
