Dance and performing arts company Dewey Dell reimagines Stravinsky’s revolutionary work with raw, primal energy, offering a fresh perspective on the timeless score.
This astonishing new work solidifies Dewey Dell’s position as one of the most original and compelling companies on the contemporary scene. The powerful seduction of Stravinsky’s score clashes with the furious energy of the performers’ bodies, creating a visceral experience that captivates audiences.
Drawing inspiration from art history and animal behaviour, the performance delves into the eternal cycle of life and death, with the mystery of spring unfolding in a fierce conflict between sound and vision.
Comprising Teodora Castellucci, Agata Castellucci, Vito Matera, and Demetrio Castellucci, Dewey Dell has been pushing boundaries in contemporary performance since 2006. Their unique choreographic research explores the metamorphosis of the human being, always accompanied by the interplay of life and death.
Music score by Igor Stravinsky. This programme contains an additional prologue and epilogue of a soundscape curated by Demetrio Castellucci solely for this choreography.
