Post show - The Italian Effect

ICI London is pleased to announce a new show, The Italian Effect, at the Italian Cultural Institute in London, curated by Stephen Farthing, RA.

Supported by ICI London, The Italian Effect presents a selection of artworks by artists living in the United Kingdom who have, for a reason or another, chosen to invest their creative endeavors with content drawn from the Italian culture. Some of the artists have an enduring relationship with Italian culture, others may have a brief but enchanted encounter.

Today, the traditional values of the academies have little influence on why an artist might travel from England to Italy. However, Italy is one of a few countries where the visual culture of its past remains visible, at the street level as well as an integral part of our perception of today’s society. This is the primary reason for artists wanting to travel to Italy to hone their art.

Featured artists include:

David Austen + Josephine Baker + Stephen Farthing RA

Mali Morris RA + Stephen Nelson + Joseph Tilson RA

Jake Tilson + Mark Wallinger

ART EXHIBITION: 1 – 27 OCTOBER 2023, Mon-Fri from 10 am to 5 pm at the Italian Cultural Institute in London (39 Belgrave Square, London S1X 8NX).

PRIVATE VIEW: Tuesday 3rd of OCTOBER 2023. To book your free entry, click HERE.

Graphic design is curated by Jake Tilson.
