2024 is an important year for INTERNI Magazine as it celebrates its 70th anniversary. Over the past 30 years, under the direction of Gilda Bojardi (Compasso d’Oro for Lifetime Achievement and Honorary Degree in Interior and Spatial Design from the Politecnico di Milano), the magazine has developed into a multi-structured editorial system with guides, monographic supplements, digital activities, events, and talks, making it an indispensable reference point for the creative and productive world of Made in Italy design.

A pivotal project in INTERNI’s system was the creation (curated by Gilda Bojardi) of the FuoriSalone in 1990, a circuit of Milanese events (around 400 listed in the Guide) organised in museums, historic palaces, galleries, and flagship stores. Every April, in conjunction with the Salone del Mobile, the city transforms into a grand event, the most important and celebrated International Design Week in the world.

INTERNI in London. Following the FuoriSalone activities (April 17-23) in Milan and Big Italy, conceived for NYCxDesign (May 16-23) in New York, INTERNI Magazine will celebrate its 70 years in London on the occasion of the London Design Festival (September 14-22). The event will explore the cultural affinities between Italian and Anglo-Saxon design cultures, with a broad vision beyond national borders, exploring dimensions, and values relevant to both countries. This will also be an opportunity to present the magazine’s new graphic design, created by the Milanese studio Tomo Tomo.
