The Royal Ballet presents the world premiere of The Dante Project, by Wayne McGregor
ICI London is delighted to announce this project by the Royal Ballet as part of Dante’s 700th anniversary celebrations: Wayne McGregor’s latest full-length ballet The Dante Project. A co-production with Paris Opera Ballet partly inspired by Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy, this unique ballet receives its world premiere 700 years after the death of Dante Alighieri in 1321. Wayne McGregor is renowned for his ground-breaking choreography and collaborations. He has assembled an award-winning team of international talent, featuring a new score by Thomas Adès commissioned by The Royal Ballet and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Set and costumes are by celebrated visual artist Tacita Dean, lighting design is by Lucy Carter and Simon Bennison and dramaturgy by Uzma Hameed.
