This event will take place at The Knowledge Centre, British Library, 96 Euston Rd, London, NW1 2DB
On 13 February the Knowledge Centre of the British Library is hosting the annual translation prizes presentation evening of The Society of Authors. Outstanding translations from Arabic, Italian, German, French, Swedish, and Spanish, as well as the TA First Translation prize for a debut literary translation will be presented and awarded during the evening.
The Italian Cultural Institute joins The Society of Authors in supporting the John Florio Prize, awarded for the best English translation of a full-length Italian work of literary merit and general interest. The prize was established in 1963 and named after the writer-translator John Florio, who lived in London from 1555 to 1625.
